ASSISTED STRETCH:

Also known as Thai yoga or Thai massage, is a form of bodywork where a practitioner assists a client in achieving various yoga-like stretches and postures while on massage table while addressing Sen (energy pathways). The practitioner uses their hands and body weight to gently guide the client into passive stretches, helping to improve flexibility, mobility, and muscle relaxation. This can also be performed with a more active stretching, where the same is applied but client is asked to move their own muscles through ROM while pressure is applied to attachment or origin of specific muscles groups. PNF and mobility techniques can also be used depending on the needs of the client.

Benefits of assisted stretching include enhanced flexibility and range of motion, improved circulation, and the release of muscle tension. The stretches target specific muscle groups and joints, promoting better posture and alignment. It can be particularly beneficial for athletes, individuals with mobility issues, or those seeking a gentle yet effective way to improve their physical comfort and performance.

Yoga students - this can also be helpful if there is a specific pose you are working towards and you seem to feel restricted in finding the space or feel that a specific muscle group or area is hindering your ability to move in that way.

**Assisted stretching sessions are done fully clothed. Assisted stretching can be added into a sports massage as well.

DDEEP PRESSURE:

Firm pressure to full body during massage; more use of forearms and elbows during. Keep in mind that you can always communicate during your session if there is ever too much pressure on any area of your body!

“What is the difference between deep tissue and deep pressure?”

Deep tissue techniques are very slow strokes, allowing access to deep muscle tissue and fascia. There is minimal to no oil used during deep tissue work and it is targeted to a specific muscle from origin to insertion. This is not done full body and used more in Sports Massage.

Deep pressure is simply that - very firm pressure during your entire full body massage!

REIKI:

Reiki is a spiritual and energetic healing practice with origins in TCM. It involves the transfer of universal life force energy through the hands of the practitioner to the recipient. The term "Reiki" is derived from two Japanese words: "rei," meaning universal or spiritual, and "ki," meaning life force energy.

Reiki can be infused into any massage or bodywork session or done in a 60 minute just Reiki session where you would lie completely clothed on massage table. This modality does not require a physical touch, and can be done with just a slight hover of the hand over the body. The aim is to channel this energy to balance the recipient's energy centers (chakras) and promote physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual healing.

Reiki is believed to help reduce stress, induce relaxation, alleviate pain, enhance the body's natural healing processes and flow of energy, creating a sense of peace and well-being. It is often used as a complementary therapy to conventional medical treatments and is considered safe and non-invasive.

MAGNESIUM CREAM:

Magnesium is an essential mineral that plays a crucial role in muscle function and relaxation. Topical application allows for direct absorption through the skin, bypassing the digestive system. This may enable faster uptake of magnesium, providing more immediate relief to muscle tension, spasms and soreness. Magnesium works to relax muscles by blocking calcium from entering the muscle cell, which in turn softened the muscle tissues quickly and allows for deeper work.

Magnesium is essential for cellular repair and regeneration. Using a magnesium cream during a massage can potentially support the healing process of muscles, making it extremely beneficial for post-exercise recovery or for individuals dealing with muscle injuries.

HOT HIMALAYAN STONES:

Hot Himalayan stones, also known as Himalayan salt stones, are used in a massage technique where warmed, smooth salt stones are applied to the body. These stones are hand-carved from natural Himalayan salt crystals and are heated to a comfortable temperature before being used during the massage session. Himalayan salt is rich in minerals such as magnesium, potassium, and calcium. When the warmed stones come into contact with the skin, these minerals are absorbed into the body, aiding in muscle recovery, hydration, and overall skin health. The gentle warmth also helps to loosen tight muscles and facilitates a deeper state of relaxation, allowing for deeper work into muscles.

The natural texture of the salt stones can also provide gentle exfoliation when rubbed on the skin, helping to remove dead skin cells and leaving the skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

**This service requires the use of COCONUT OIL - if you have a nut allergy please avoid booking this add on service.

**Hot stones will be used in first few minutes of massage on back, neck and/or targeted problem areas as well

SOUND HEALING:

Quartz sound bowls create specific frequencies and vibrations that resonate with the body's energy centers, or chakras. The tones produced are thought to balance and align the energy flow within the body, promoting a state of harmony and healing. As the sound vibrations permeate the body, they can help alleviate stress, anxiety, and tension, allowing for a calmer mental and emotional state. Incorporating quartz sound bowls into meditation practices can enhance the meditative experience.

**Sound bowls will be played at the start and end of session
